Reflecting on my journey as an insurance agent and entrepreneur has led me to consider various aspects of teaching and personal development. When it comes to teaching effectiveness, I’ve encountered challenges with individuals , whose communication style or teaching methods may not align with my learning preferences. In such situations, clarifying learning goals, setting boundaries, and communicating preferred learning styles are essential steps to navigate these interactions.
Considering the possibility of mentorship, whether through a formal program or informal guidance, can help bridge gaps in teaching styles. Bringing in an outside mentor or establishing structured sessions can provide valuable insights and support in professional growth.
My personal goal is to achieve independence while serving as a strong support figure, capable of thinking and acting autonomously. To progress in this direction, I recognize the importance of acquiring the necessary tools, seeking support, and fostering trust to facilitate growth.
Continuing to engage with resources like books on communication, leadership, and business, as well as exploring the teachings of W. Clement Stone focusing on Positive Mental Attitude (PMA), self-discipline, and vision, are integral to personal development. Additionally, creating or refining a Vision Board can help visualize goals and align daily actions with long-term aspirations.
Setting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for personal growth, learning, teaching, and knowledge sharing can provide a structured approach to progress. From reading 1-2 relevant books per month to attending mentorship sessions and completing train-the-trainer sessions, each KPI contributes to professional development.
Monitoring progress on strategic goals, aligning actions with vision, and actively participating in team support roles further enhance the journey towards independence and personal growth. By setting targets for decision-making autonomy, project follow-through, proactive suggestions implementation, and aligning goals with vision, I aim to continuously evolve and excel in my roles.
